Dawana ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by Hussein Al-Hashimi (K64bit), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, Dawana (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

Dawana is engineered with a strict "privacy-first" and "offline-first" architecture. The App operates locally on your device without requiring user account registration or cloud profile creation.

A. Personal & Health Data

We do not require you to register an account or provide personal identifying information (such as your name, email, phone number, or physical address). Any sensitive health information you input—including medication names, schedules, dosage amounts, frequencies, and adherence logs—is stored strictly and exclusively in an offline database on your local device.

In accordance with strict health data protection standards and Apple Developer Program Requirements (Section 3.3.3), Dawana never transmits, uploads, sells, or syncs your personal medication schedules or medical logs to external servers or cloud databases.

B. Device Permissions & On-Device Processing

To provide medication reminder and accessibility features, the App requests access to specific device features:

• Camera and Photo Library: Used strictly to capture or select images of medication packaging for on-device optical character recognition (OCR) and text extraction. All image analysis is processed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning models. Images, scans, and extracted text are never uploaded to external servers or used for facial recognition, user identification, or profiling.
• Notifications & Alarms: Used to schedule and deliver local alerts, sound alarms, and reminders when it is time to take your scheduled medications.
• Audio & Text-to-Speech: Used to play auditory alert tones and convert medication names and instructions into spoken audio locally on your device for enhanced accessibility.
• Local Storage / SQLite Database: Used to read and write your medication profiles, reminder configurations, and compliance history directly in your device's secure local sandbox.

C. Network Usage

Dawana does not conduct background network analytics, user tracking, or behavioral profiling. The core functionality runs completely offline. If you explicitly choose to export medication records or print reports, your data is processed through your operating system's standard share dialog and transmitted only to the third-party destinations (such as your doctor, printer, or email recipient) that you deliberately select.

2. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS

We believe in total transparency regarding any third-party involvement:

• Distribution Platforms (Apple App Store & Google Play Store): The App is distributed through Apple's App Store and Google Play Store. These platforms may collect anonymous crash logs, installation statistics, and performance diagnostics under Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
• No Advertising Trackers or Data Brokers: Dawana does not incorporate third-party advertising SDKs, tracking frameworks, or data broker tools. We never sell, rent, license, or disclose your health or medication information to advertisers, marketing platforms, or data brokers (strictly complying with Apple Developer Program Requirements Section 3.3.3.B and 3.3.3.H).

3. DATA RETENTION, CONTROL, AND DELETION

Because all health and schedule data is kept exclusively in local storage on your device, you maintain full, autonomous control over your records at all times (in full compliance with App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v)):

• You can view, edit, or permanently delete any medication schedule, dosage entry, or log directly from within the App.
• You can clear app history through device or in-app settings.
• Uninstalling the App from your device immediately and permanently deletes all stored medication databases, schedules, and application files.

4. SECURITY OF YOUR DATA & BREACH NOTIFICATION

We rely on operating system-level application sandboxing and encrypted local databases to safeguard your health records. Because your data is not stored in cloud infrastructure, your personal medical data is safe from cloud server breaches. However, the security of your information also depends on safeguarding your physical device (e.g., enabling passcodes, Face ID/Touch ID, and avoiding modified or jailbroken operating systems).

In accordance with applicable law and Apple Developer Program License Agreement obligations (Section 3.3.3(C)), in the event of any security incident or breach compromising user data, we will take prompt corrective measures and notify affected users in compliance with legal standards.

5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Dawana is intended for individuals and families managing medication schedules. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us so we can guide you in removing the local records.

6. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory requirements. We will notify you of modifications by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this policy periodically.
